U Mobile, a new mobile brand from Ukrtelecom, has launched in Ukraine
U Mobile, a virtual mobile operator and new brand of TRIMOB LLC — whose sole founder is Ukrtelecom — has launched in Ukraine. The operator operates under the MVNO model and uses the networks of Ukrainian mobile operators under commercial national roaming terms.
U Mobile has entered the market with the “Simka” rate plan, aimed primarily at mobile internet users. Two packages are available — “Simka 15” with 15 GB and “Simka 60” with 60 GB of data per month. Both plans also include 500 minutes of calls within Ukraine and 15 SMS messages.
The operator offers subscriptions for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months: the longer the selected period, the lower the average monthly cost. Unlike the 28-day billing cycle common in the mobile market, U Mobile uses the calendar month.
New subscribers can choose between a physical SIM card or an eSIM. Users who port their number from another carrier are eligible for a 15% discount on their first selected period.
Separately, U Mobile integrates with Ukrtelecom’s fixed-line services. The “Simka 60” plan is available as part of the “Optika+Simka” bundle, which combines mobile service and home fiber-optic internet with speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s on a single bill.
The launch of U Mobile expands “Ukrtelecom’s” presence in the converged telecom services market, where mobile service and fixed-line internet are offered to customers as a single product.
