The Ministry of Education and Science Has Selected 12 Universities to Create CampeX Campuses of Excellence
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has identified 12 universities that are moving on to the next phase of the CampeX project — the preparation and implementation of investment projects to create campuses of excellence. The initiative is being implemented in partnership with the World Bank as part of the UIHERP project, “Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results.”
The program includes the Kyiv Aviation Institute, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Lutsk National Technical University, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Lviv Polytechnic National University, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Sumy State University, Uzhhorod National University, Dnipro Polytechnic National University, Chernivtsi National University, and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
The campuses will specialize in areas of strategic importance for Ukraine: unmanned and autonomous systems, space technologies, new materials, biotechnologies, critical and energy infrastructure, agricultural technologies, digital health, medicine, green technologies, and sustainable development.
Funding for CampeX may cover the purchase of modern research and educational equipment, the renovation and reconstruction of university facilities, energy efficiency upgrades, the development of IT and network infrastructure, the acquisition of specialized software, as well as international certification, expert support, and training.
According to the vision of the Ministry of Education and Science and the World Bank, CampeX is intended to form a network of flagship university centers that will combine education, science, and innovation, attract strong research teams and international partners, and create practical solutions for Ukraine’s recovery and modernization.
