The Cabinet of Ministers has approved amendments to the 2026 state budget that significantly increase funding for Ukraine’s security and defense sector.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved amendments to the 2026 state budget that significantly increase funding for Ukraine’s security and defense sector.

This involves the legislative allocation of the first tranche of EU financial support under the Ukraine Support Loan—€45 billion in 2026. Of this amount, €31.8 billion will be allocated to defense and security, and another €13.2 billion to social and humanitarian needs.

• +1.56 trillion UAH for the security and defense sector

• +1.371 trillion UAH for weapons, equipment, and ammunition

• +174.3 billion UAH for military pay

• 40 billion UAH for regional resilience ahead of the 2026/27 winter

• 40 billion UAH in addition to the reserve fund
